Trick or Treating

Trick or Treating is a annual tradition in Vancouver.

Most residential streets in Vancouver will have homes that will give out candies to those trick or treating!

Now, it also common for malls and commercial businesses to participate in Trick or Treating on Halloween day.  Malls are good for trick or treating because they are indoors and we all know that the weather in Vancouver can be poor on Halloween!

The Kids Market on Granville Island also has an annual indoor Trick or Treating event!

Many of the Business Improvement Associations(BIAs) in Vancouver have trick or treating by some of the businesses in their district for a few hours on a specific day on or before halloween.  The BIAs that do it annually are:

• Commercial Drive
• Robson Street
• Dunbar Village
• Yaletown
• West End
• East Village
• West Broadway
• Mount Pleasant
• Marpole Village

Many participating businesses in the Commercial Drive area will be handing out candy to kids on Halloween afternoon!

Look for 'Treats Here' posters on display at participating merchants to get treats(while supplies last).

This appears to be one of the largest trick or treat opportunties among the Business Improvement areas!

The International Village Mall is having a Halloween Kids Party on the Saturday prior to Halloween.

Starting at 2pm, there will be spooky canvas painting workshop, haunted snap station, wicked balloon twisting, ghostly face painting, and frightful games!

From 4pm-4:30pm, there will be Trick or Treating!

Note: There will NOT be trick or treating at the mall on October 31, 2025.

Participating businesses on Robson Street will be handing out candy to kids on Halloween starting at the Robson and Thurlow parklet.

Participating businesses in the Dunbar Village will be handing out candy to kids on the Saturday before Halloween.

This non-scary Halloween event that is taking place in all three areas of Dunbar Village, come out to trick-or-treat in a toddler-friendly environment.

There is indoor trick or treating in the Kids Market on Granville Island.

Bring your own bag to collect treats which are free while they last.

Dress up in a costume and get a spooky photo in a halloween themed Photo booth.

For 2025, they have partnered with La Luna Events to have a bigger party from 11am-5pm with spooky face painting, photo ops, and live music.

Tip: Kids, you can double your Halloween haul by going to Yaletown Trick-or-Treating which starts at 3:30pm first before the Denman Street Trick-or Treating which starts at 4:30pm!

This is an annual trick or treating event on West Broadway for kids and pets!

Visit over 70 merchants for free Halloween candy, sweet treats, and pet treats all along West Broadway between Collingwood to Larch St.  Just look for the pumpkin in the window and the wagging tails!

Starts at West Broadway at Macdonald.

Participants can pick up their FREE treat bag and map of participating locations, and enter to win prizes!

The annual Mount Pleasant Trick or Treat is where Children dressed up in a costume look for the pumpkin posters in the windows of participating businesses to enjoy a safe trick-or-treat from a local merchant.

There will be a kids' performance at the Main and 21st Plaza, La Luna face painting at the 49th Parallell Coffee Main Street, and costume contest at Yum Sweet Shop.
