Trick or Treating
Trick or Treating is an annual tradition in Vancouver.
Most residential streets in Vancouver will have homes that give out candies to those trick or treating!
Now, it is also common for malls and commercial businesses to participate in Trick or Treating on Halloween day. Malls are good for trick or treating because they are indoors, and we all know that the weather in Vancouver can be poor on Halloween!
The Kids Market on Granville Island also hosts an annual indoor Trick or Treating event!
Many of the Business Improvement Associations (BIAs) in Vancouver organize trick-or-treating events hosted by local merchants in their district for a few hours on or before Halloween. The BIAs that do it annually are:
Many participating businesses in the Commercial Drive area will be handing out candy to kids on Halloween afternoon!
Look for 'Treats Here' posters on display at participating merchants to get treats (while supplies last).
This appears to be one of the largest trick or treat opportunities among the Business Improvement areas!

The International Village Mall is hosting a Halloween Kids Party on the Saturday prior to Halloween.
Starting at 2pm, there will be a spooky canvas painting workshop, haunted snap station, wicked balloon twisting, ghostly face painting, and frightful games!
From 4pm-4:30pm, there will be Trick or Treating!
Note: There will NOT be trick or treating at the mall layout on October 31, 2026.

This non-scary Halloween event takes place across all three commercial areas of Dunbar Village, offering trick-or-treating in a toddler-friendly environment.

Bring your own bag to collect treats, which are free while supplies last.
Dress up in a costume and get a spooky photo taken in a halloween themed photo booth.
For 2026, they are continuing party partnerships to offer extended hours with spooky face painting, photo ops, and live music setups.

This is an annual trick or treating event on West Broadway for kids and pets!
Visit over 70 merchants for free Halloween candy, sweet treats, and pet treats all along West Broadway between Collingwood and Larch St. Just look for the pumpkin decoration in the window and the wagging tails!

The annual Mount Pleasant Trick or Treat event is where children dressed up in costumes look for pumpkin posters in the windows of participating businesses to enjoy safe trick-or-treating from a local merchant.
There will be a kids' performance at the Main and 21st Plaza, face painting at the 49th Parallel Coffee on Main Street, and a costume contest at Yum Sweet Shop.
