When Halloween approaches, Vancouver streets and neighborhoods undergo a spectacular transformation with jaw-dropping house and street displays that rival any other city's festivities. From the West End to East Vancouver, residents go all out to create immersive and spine-tingling Halloween experiences for everyone to enjoy. One can't-miss destination for Halloween enthusiasts is the charming community of Dunbar, where residents deck out their homes with elaborate decorations, turning the entire area into a haunted wonderland. Likewise, the historic district of Strathcona is known for its Victorian-era homes, which take on an eerie, haunted appearance with ghostly decorations and cobweb-covered gardens.
For a unique and immersive experience, take a stroll through the West End's tree-lined streets, where you'll encounter meticulously decorated houses that bring classic horror movie scenes to life. In East Vancouver, Commercial Drive and Main Street are home to some of the most elaborate and spooky house displays, complete with interactive elements that engage and thrill visitors of all ages.

There are fantastic halloween displays put up in front of the heritage houses on the 900 block of Bute Street.
One house normally has a giant pirate ship coming out of it! It is an amazing display!
These houses give out candy to trick-or-treaters on Halloween night!
The apartment building next to the houses also gives out candies on Halloween Night. They used to do an elaborate halloween display, but have scaled back in recent years.
This is the main block in the West End of Vancouver for Halloween! Thousands of people come by on Halloween night to see the displays.

Primarily known for it's fantastic Christmas displays, the 2400-2900 blocks of Trinity Street now puts up fantastic Halloween decorations!
There are about 20 houses that have displays over the few blocks.

The Halloween display at 1142 Lily Street in Vancouver is arguably the best Halloween house display in Vancouver!
The main theme is a ghost pirate ship inspired by the Goonies movie. There are some animatronics that make for a scary visit!
It is a little hard to find this house, but well worth the visit.
They raise money for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and over the years have raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity!
Tip: It is so busy on Halloween night, so we recommend that you go on another night prior to Halloween to get a good view of the Halloween decorations!

The Aberdeen Mansion at 1110 Victoria Drive has a big Halloween display.
This is a huge display in the front yard of a mansion.
On Halloween night, you will be allowed in to follow a path with scary creatures and ghosts before getting your treat! After receiving your treat you will need to follow the path out through the scary graveyard!
Check out the fantastic visual displays including the giant spider coming down the top of the house!
This is just a few blocks away from the 1142 Lily St Pirate ship display (see above). They have teamed up to collect donations for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
On October 31, 2024, they open the gates open at dark until 11pm.

The Halloween display at 715 Victoria Drive in East Van is probably the most unique Halloween display in Vancouver!
Each year, there is a different, often politicaly-sensitive theme like: Inflation (2022), or Housing(2023)!
For 2024, it is a Vancouver theme with things like: Vancouver City Hell, Parks Board being axed, Ghoul Chilling Park, and Chip Wilson's mansion with his political sign!

There are a couple of houses on Fairmont Street that fill their yards with tons of Halloween displays.
We can't believe how full they fill their yards!
