The Stanley Park Ghost Train is a halloween-themed miniature train ride.
Each year there is a different theme. The theme for 2024 is: Ghosts in the Graveyard
There are daily evening train rides that have live actors in costumes. On the weekends there are afternoon matinees that do not have live actors and are for younger children.
This is a ticketed event. You must buy tickets to ride the train.
The Stanley Park Junction is usually decorated with halloween decorations, and will have food trucks.

Fright Nights is an annual halloween-themed experience with 8 haunted houses, rides, creepy decor, and live performances.
There are 8 haunted houses, 15+ rides, 'Opening Scaremonies', 'Trials of the Night'New and 'Fizz Death Circuit'New.
This is a ticketed event. You must buy tickets for a specific night to enter. Admission includes a ride pass and entry to the haunted houses.
Trials of the Night is new for 2024. It is a reenactment of the Salem Witch Trials.
The Fizz Death Circuit is also new for 2024. We aren't exactly sure what this is yet! It says that you can capture your final moments at the Death Circuit by Fizz mobile!

Note 2: They have an early entry add-on for $20 that allows you to enter some of the haunted houses up to an hour early.

Tip: Go early and try to do as many haunted houses as possible because later in the evening there are usually lineups to get in to all the haunted houses.
HowlOver Canada is an amusement park-type ride that simulates you flying with a Halloween theme.
This year you are flying with 'Biker Mama the witch' and other spooky sidekicks on your way to an out of this world music festival!
This is split into a pre-ride video show, pre-boarding, and the actual FlyOver.
Costumes are welcome and encouraged.
This is a ticketed event. You must buy tickets to go on this ride.
They have a self-guided scavenger hunt. Additionally, they have Face Painting, Balloon Art or Other Boo-rilliant family entertaiment from 1pm to 4pm on Oct 14-15, Oct 21-22, and Oct 28-29.

Halloween Mystery Nights is 3 different games put on nightly by Vancouver Mysteries during mid-end of October where you try to solve a mystery!
It isn't really Halloween oriented, but does have a 'Ghost Patrol' game. The other 2 games are: Secret Mission and Crime in Downtown.
This is a self-guided outdoor adventure and unique sightseeing experience. Teams must return within 2 hours to return game gear.
Costumes are encouraged.
You can win prizes also.

The 2024 Vancouver Horror Show Film Festival (VHS) is an annual event that shows short and feature movies from the Horror genre.
For 2024, there will be "2 full weekends of screenings, Filmmaker Q&A sessions, panel discussions, parties, awards". There will be 9 feature films and 47 shorts.

This is an annual Halloween-themed parade in East Vancouver. The theme for 2024 is: UNPLUGGED
The Dusty Flower Pot Cabaret Society that organizes this event hosts a bunch of related workshops in October which includes a Costume Sale, Time Warp Dance workshop, and a Thriller Dance workship.
There will be a 'Parade of Little Souls' at 6:30pm for the little ones

This is an annual event where hundreds of people dress up as witches and paddle board to Granville Island and back from Kitsilano Beach while wearing Witch costumes!
2024 is the 4th year of this annual event.
Participants should be experienced paddleboarders and wear witch/warlock costumes or at least dress all in black!
This event supports SHARE Family and Community Services. They will be collecting donations and packaged food(canned goods, whole grain rice, baby formula, etc.)

All Souls at Mountain View Cemetery is an artist led, non-denominational, annual event to honour our dead.
People are invited to light candles, write messages and create personal memorials and place them on public shrines.
Often there is live music, and small fires to gather around.
On October 17, 2024 there will be a Retrospective slide show featuring 'pictures, stories and things we learned along the way.'
On October 24, 2024 to Friday November 1, 2024 there will be Memorial Box Lantern kits can be placed on shrines. Boxes available (from Oct 19) that can be taken home and personalized.
On October 24, 2024 6pm there will be the Opening Ceremony with a ceremonial fire and public shrine opening.
On October 24, 2024 to Friday November 1, 2024 the Public Shrines will be available for people to light candles, write messages, and leave memorials to remember those who passed. There may be some quiet incidental music sometimes in the evening and on weekends.
On October 26, 2024 1pm-4pm there will be the Red Dress Memorial to honour the missing and murdered indigenous women, girls, and 2slgbtqqia+ peoples.
On October 26, 2024 6pm there will be the Ceremony for our Ancestors which will be a traditional Swedish Fire with tea, memorials, and a reflective slideshow.
On October 27, 2024 1pm-4pm there will be the Traditional Chines Funeral Practices where the traditional practices will be shared.
On November 1, 2024 7pm-9pm there is a closing ceremony which is a walk to the shrines.

Following are some popular past Halloween events that have been cancelled this year or cancelled permanently.
There used to be a Vancouver Halloween Parade and Expo that took place but it has been cancelled this year due to the Granville Bridge loops demoliton.
The Vancouver Halloween Parade used to take place on Granville St in mid-October each year and featured action heroes, dance school zombies, and many more participants.
A few years ago there used to be Vancouver Haunted Trolley Tours but they have been permanently cancelled.
